Saint Demi­ana Cop­tic Ortho­dox Church in San Diego was founded in 1991 as an increas­ing num­ber of Copts moved south­ward from Orange County. Ini­tially, the parish was shep­herded by Hegu­men Father Felimon Mikhail and other parish priests until the arrival of the cur­rent priest, Hegu­men Father Mina Youssef Wahba on August 4, 1995. The parish’s ser­vices are pri­mar­ily in the Eng­lish lan­guage, as the parish serves many vis­it­ing stu­dents at sur­round­ing universities.
