Our Church

The Saint Demi­ana Cop­tic Ortho­dox Church in San Diego was con­se­crated by His Holi­ness Pope Shenouda III (left) on Fri­day, Octo­ber 7^th 1994.

Dur­ing that time the South­ern Cal­i­for­nia area began to grow and His Holi­ness Pope Shenouda III enthroned His Grace Bishop Ser­a­pion (right) as the Bishop of the Dio­cese of Los Ange­les on Decem­ber 23^rd, 1995.

Our Church became part of the Dio­cese of Los Ange­les. In the past eleven years, Our Church con­gre­ga­tion has nearly tripled in num­bers. The large growth of the con­gre­ga­tion in San Diego caused issues with the already small Church. The con­gre­ga­tion and Fr. Mina decided to pur­chase land for a future Church site.
