The Coptic Church Review, a publication with which you may already be familiar, now celebrates its 31st year. With great pleasure, the Archdeacon Habib Guirguis Educational Fund has acquired the journal, which was previously published by the Society of Coptic Church Studies. The Coptic Church Review was created to offer scholarly studies to those with an interest in the ancient history, spirituality, and theology of the Coptic Orthodox Church. With a sense of honor and responsibility, the Archdeacon Habib Guirguis Educational Fund plans to continue publishing the journal for the spiritual and theological nourishment of its readers.

The first issue of the Coptic Church Review under its new auspices (31:1) features three articles. The first is an excerpt from the Mystery of Godliness, a book by the publisher’s namesake, Archdeacon Habib Guirguis. The second is a transcription of a speech with great historical importance. Upon his first pastoral visit to North America in 1977, His Holiness Pope Shenouda III spoke at the University of California in Berkley on the history and current state of the Coptic Church. The third article discusses the history of Great Lent and is written by Fr. John Paul Abdelsayed and Fr. Moses Samaan.

We invite you to become a subscribing member of this valuable resource. A subscription form is attached for your convenience: CCR Subscription Form.

We also welcome you and your congregation to submit scholarly articles on biblical, liturgical, patristic, spiritual, or Coptic-related topics for review and possible publication. Original translations of previously published articles on these topics into English are also welcome.

For more information, contact the journal at info@copticreview.org or visit www.copticreview.org. All issues of the first 30 years are indexed on our website. If you wish to purchase a back issue, please let us know.

Please pray for our efforts,
